Synopsis

INTEREST. Travelogue. Scenes in North Borneo (Sabah).

Main title and credit (10). Village with houses on stilts above water, native canoe crosses scene, bow of yacht seen to right (26). Small merchant vessel (36). Coolies load and unload a large merchant ship (62). The same village as before with a full view of the yacht, a sailing barge passes the camera (78). Inhabitants of a house on stilts leave their house via some steps and get into canoe, the canoe is paddled to the camera (114). On a country track porters carrying large baskets walk past camera (146). Natives wait by railway line, train pulls up (157). The same train travelling away from camera (186); the train follows the bend of a river travelling away from the camera; pan right to river (255). Pan left over rolling hills and jungle (299ft).

Note: The scenes are probably around Kota Kinabalu, formerly Jesselton, as the only railway line in 1907 ran from there to Beaufort.
