Synopsis
ACTUALITY. Boer War. A long column of mounted troops fording a river (148ft).
Note: Lord Roberts took the surrender of Kroonstad on 12 May 1900. According to the Warwick catalogue the film shows: `Lord Roberts and Kitchener with Staff Officers entering Kroonstad at the head of the Mounted Column of Foreign Attachés, Bodyguard and wagonette, in which are seated the Landdrost and other officials who went out to surrender to Lord Roberts ... Lord Kitchener is mounted on a White Charger, with an Indian officer riding beside him, on the right of Lord Roberts, and Sir John Hill Jones VC, on the left of the Commander-in-Chief'.
