Synopsis

INTEREST. Various fruits in India.

No main title. Intertitle (2). LS of a boy shinning down a large tree outside a house with fruit from the areca tree. He is watched by a few men and a number of boys (16). A boy slides down an areca tree (24). CU of boy holding a branch with the fruit (30-37). A vendor selling bettel a product from the kernels of the fruit; a man eats it (43-51). A man pulls down leaves from the banana tree so that another can cut a bunch of bananas (57-65). Piles of bananas in a market (84). A young girl peels and eats a banana (100). Two men climb the popaije tree; closer view of man in crown, he drops the fruit to the ground (136). A small boy holds a mango still attached to the tree (142-157). Market traders sorting oranges (162-171). Various fruits laid out on a mat in a market (192). LS of coconut palms (described as cocoa-nut trees in the intertitles) (198-216).
