SEA GOES BACK

This film is held by the BFI (ID: 279059).

Synopsis

An engineer dreams of a fictitious conference of the `Mediterranean Economy Union' called to discuss plans for damming the Mediterranean Sea at Gibraltar and the Dardanelles in order to reduce the sea level and reclaim potentially valuable farm land. The `conference' presentations are illustrated with models, graphics and stock shots. The plans are quashed by an expert who points out the consequences of the dams being dynamited, the action of subterranean forces, and the activities of the earth itself in reaction to human interference.
