Synopsis

Record of the royal visit by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip to Sierra Leone 25/11 - 1/12/1961.

Royal yacht Britannia's arrival in Freetown. Formal greeting from dignitaries including the Prime Minister Sir Milton Margai. The drive to the Governor Generals residence, Port Thornton. Mayor of Freetown meets the Queen in Victoria Park and presents her with a golden key. Queen attends military parade of the 1st Battalion Royal Sierra Leone Regiment. Prince Philip visits the construction site at Guma Dam (175) Sunday Service at St. Georges Cathedral, Freetown.
