Synopsis
Gold Coast. A new fish-canning industry which has been started at Osu.London. African students visit the Fire Brigade H.Q. and see a fire display.
'Gold Coast government starts Canning Factory' Women cleaning fish under a shed on the coast. Cleaned fish cut into pieces and put into cans by hand. Salt water added. Lids put on by machine. Cans then heated to high temperature in a retort to keep the fish fresh. The cans are then boiled for 50mins and then taken to a shed to cool. The next day the cans are labelled.
'London African students Visit Fire Brigade H.Q.'. Nigerian NA officers visit Albert Embankment fire brigade. Firemen put on a display using fire engines, practice tower, ladders and firemans lift. Pumps at 1,000 gallons a minute. Turntable ladder. Fireman at top of high ladder. Maximum time to reach a fire is 3.5 minutes.
