Synopsis

I. The waters of the Zambezi pour through the floodgates of the Kariba Dam in Rhodesia and Nyasaland.

II. Belgian Grand Prix takes place in pouring rain: called off after 6 laps. Jim Clark wins; shots of him and Graham Hill.

III. The catamaran Rehu Moana sails from Britain to Jan Mayen Island off Greenland on a scientific mission led by Dr David Lewis. Rehu Moana can "ride on top of the ice".

IV. German tanks (M48s ?) disembark at Castle Martin, Pembrokeshire to train as part of the development of NATO forces.

V. HM Queen and Prince Philip visit Squadron 83 of Bomber Command. Crews on parade, hangar scenes, Vulcan preparation and take-off.

VI. Prince Philip visits the De Havilland factory in Hertfordshire, where the Blue Streak rocket is being tested before its departure to Australia; further rocketry tests.

VII. International horse show at the Borghese Gardens in Rome. The British team, featuring Amelia Drummond-Hey and Harvey Smith (both pictured) were the winners.

VIII. The Le Mans 24-hour race - one of the cars, a Rover BRM driven by Graham Hill, has a gas turbine engine. Close look at the engine and the car in action on a test track.

IX. Quality control at the Wedgwood factory; a man whose job it is to smash reject pottery. Testing the strength of Wedgwood china; a Daimler bus (with people on board) is balanced successfully on six coffee cups.
