Synopsis

Film showing the Royal Warwickshire Regiment on location in the New Territories, Hong Kong.

The Royal Warwickshire Regiment, 1st Battalion, marching with their mascot and transporting goods across land in Chinese territory opposite Hong Kong harbour; voiceover analyses their historical background. Various scenes of the regiment's domestic life: the soldiers' wives playing bingo, children playing, the high standard of living (the army provides each family with a servant girl). The men mountaineering - the main emphasis being to get the regiment fit enough for the Gurkhas. The men cooling down in the sea; a Chinese junk owned by the regiment for recreational purposes; a club that they have a half-share in (with another unit). Final shots and discussion of Hong Kong.
