Notes

Allowing for the fact that the brevity of shots prevents the viewer from getting any real sense of the flow of the game, this footage is generally well shot with smooth following moves and the action usually fairly well centred. Playing conditions are clearly very wet and muddy.

Dopesheet states that this was a demonstration game by professional players for the entertainment of troops and lists the players of both teams as follows.

England was represented by:

Calvert of Leicester City (in goal).

Goddard of Wolverhampton Wanderers (Wolves).

Walker of West Ham.

Heslop of Bolton.

Heywood of Blackpool.

Powell of Queen's Park Rangers (QPR) and Wales.

Rothwell of Southport.

Lancelotte of Charlton Athletic.

Lee of Leicester City.

Curtis (no team named).

Compton of Arsenal.

Scotland was represented by:

Johnston of Herts (in goal).

Bulloch of Partick Thistle.

Landsborough of Queen of the South.

Keddie of Hamilton Athletic.

Denmark of Newcastle.

Milne of Celtic.

McLean of Hibernian.

Stewart of Hamilton Athletic.

Joiner of Sheffield United.

Falcon of Dundee.

McEwan of Queen's Park Rangers (QPR)

The final score was 1-1, both goals coming in the second half and being scored by Lee and Stewart.

The date on this film would suggest that this match is part of a tour also filmed by an RAF cameraman. See related items.
