Synopsis

Indian Sappers and Miners of 26th Indian Division, XV Indian Corps, seen at work with shovels, picks and bulldozers to prepare a road between the villages of Kindaunggyi and Taungup in the Arakan region of Burma.

Sappers at work with a bulldozer behind. The sappers dig out a tree root and haul it away. The bulldozer at work levelling ground and gouging out an embankment.

Notes

The Arakan region of Burma was particularly deficient in good roads, making supply and communication difficult. This in turn placed a premium on enginneering manpower and plant such as the troops and equipment in this film.
