Synopsis

United States Army Air Force medium bombers attack pockets of Japanese resistance after the capture of Yamethin, Burma.

North American B-25 Mitchell medium bombers of the United States Army Air Force (possibly 490th Bombardment Squadron, 10th US Air Force) bombing and strafing Japanese positions amongst a trees in the distance. Soldiers watch the bombing. Good views of Mitchells overflying the camera. Indian troops watch the bombing. British other ranks watching. An RAF Hawker Hurricane fighter passes overhead. A Supermarine Spitfire passes overhead.

Notes

Yamethin, ten miles south of Pyawbwe on the Meiktila-Rangoon road, fell to 123rd Brigade (5th Indian Division, IV Indian Corps) on 14 April 1945.
