Synopsis
Lieutenant-General Sir Montagu Stopford, commander of XXXIII Corps, is entertained by the people of Tamu, Burma, following their liberation by Allied troops.
Stopford arrives at Tamu and inspects a guard of honour. He is accompanied by two local bearers who shade him under decorative parasols. He is given flowers by the daughter of the local headman. A traditional dance is staged by a small troupe. He is presented with a dagger as a mark of the villagers' appreciation. General scene; Stopford watches as a band plays. Girls waiting. Stopford and party sit down to lunch. The musicians and their instruments, one plays a number of small metal gongs, another a hne or Burmese oboe.
