INDIAN ENGINEERS' FIELD WORKSHOP IN BURMA (1945 (?))

This film is held by the Imperial War Museum (ID: JFU 242).

Synopsis

Film showing vehicle maintenance activities at a field workshop in Burma.

An officer seen using a loud hailer. A wrecker lorry. Two men at work repairing an axle, possibly from a field gun. Another uses a welding torch to braze a large component. An Indian Engineer at work on the chain of a motorbike (BSA or Matchless?) presumably for use by despatch riders. A wrecker lorry reverses towards a bogged down Chevrolet CMP lorry. A tow cable is paid out and hitched to the CMP. An officer directs traffic on a road. The wrecker arrives at the site of the bogged lorry.

Notes

No dopesheets for this film, so specifics as to date, location, unit etc are unclear. Unit possibly of the Indian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, and location probably more likely to be central Burma rather than the Arakan.
