Synopsis

French troops under General Leclerc arrive in Saigon to take over military responsibility for Indo-China from 20th Indian Division.

French troops marching off the quayside at Saigon. French troops, probably of 5th Colonial Regiment, march through the streets of Saigon; the crowds wave French tricolours enthusiastically. At a Saigon airfield a guard of honour of 20th Indian Division welcomes General Phillipe Leclerc, commander of French forces in Indo-China. Leclerc inspects the guard accompanied by Major-General Sir Douglas Gracey, commander of 20th Indian Division.
