Synopsis

Sir Reginald Dorman-Smith, the recently returned Governor of Burma, attends a dragon dance in the Chinese quarter of Rangoon, during the Buddhist Festival of Lights.

Seen from behind a crowd, Dorman-Smith gets out of his car and is greeted. A Chinese dragon dance is performed with Allied flags in the background.

Notes

The Buddhist Festival of Lights, or Thadinyut, marks the end of a three-month period of Vassa, sometimes referred to as the 'Rains Retreat' or 'the Buddhist Lent'.
