A pipe band playing; camera pans to a civilian procession. Group of British officers, several of them wearing parachute wings or Parachute Regiment cap badges (probably 5th Parachute Brigade). MPAJA troops on parade. Civilians walk onto the parade ground. The officer seen earlier reads an address. Views of troops on parade. An officer of the MPAJA addresses the troops. The troops are inspected; some appear to be wearing the phoenix patches of Force 136, part of the Special Operations Executive.

Notes

The MPAJA was an ethnic Chinese guerilla force which was allied to the Malayan Communist Party, and had been initially supported by the British before the fall of Singapore. Within a few years, remnants of the MPAJA would reform as the Malayan National Liberation Army and would mount an armed insurgency against Commonwealth forces during the Malayan Emergency.
