Synopsis
At Changi Jail, Singapore, three convicted Japanese war criminals are hanged.
A hooded Japanese prisoner, probably Sergeant-Major Nobuo Iijima (named Eishima on the dopesheet), is led across a gallows in a courtyard at Changi jail by two men; spectators can be seen below. The noose is positioned around his neck shortly before he vanished through the trapdoor. The door from the cells is opened and Captain Mitsuo Komai is led out; a photographer stands by the door. The rope is placed around his neck. Shot of a chalk circle with the name 'Nakamura'. Nakamura is led out. Noose placed around his neck and his feet straps are adjusted. He vanishes out of shot as the trapdoor opens.

Nakamura was executed for having beheaded an Indian soldier, Sepoy Mohammed Shafi. Some of his trial can be seen in the films referenced below. Iijima and Komai were executed for the beating to death of two British prisoners of war at Kanburi, Thailand, in 1943. See Lomax reference below.
