Synopsis

Lieutenant-General Sir Miles Dempsey, commander Allied Land Forces South East Asia, visits east African troops in Rangoon, capital of reoccupied Burma.

Dempsey is greeted by Brigadier Reginald Johnstone, commanding 22nd East African Brigade. Inspecting officers of the brigade. Dempsey meets Company Sergeant Major Koene. Dempsey visits 6 East African Infantry Workshops Company. He meets British and African staff of 110 (East African) Casualty Receiving Station (?). He enters an open-sided and tented hospital ward. Inspecting troops. [At this point a soldier wearing Army Film and Photo Unit patches, presumably photographer Sergeant W Morris, holds up Wilson's slate and indicates 'Roll 2' with his fingers.] At Lanmadaw Docks Dempsey gets out of his jeep and is greeted. He meets embarkation officials.
