Synopsis
Lord Mountbatten inspects tanks left behind by the retreating Japanese forces and then climbs the steps and walks through the remains of King Thibaw's Palace which has been badly damaged. He talks to an Army officer as they look out over the wall and moat of the fort.
Mandalay railway station is badly damaged and the tracks have been bombed. Rolling stock is scattered and burned across the rails. Platforms and their canopies show severe bomb damage.
Lord Louis Mountbatten visits Fort Dufferin and King Thibaw's Palace, Mandalay, Burma, after British soldiers captured them from the Japanese.
