Extracts from a series of newsreels produced for the Jewish audience in Palestine, 1929-1947.

Notes

Summary: Axelrod tells the story, which would appear to be true, that the arrival of the sportsmen was a 'front'. Apparently many of the 'sportsmen' who came ashore were illegal immigrants who arrived under the banner of the Maccabiah but then never left Palestine.

Documentation/associated material: Axelrod catalogue (held in photocopy form by Film and Video Archive).
