Synopsis

(128A) February 1938: New High Commissioner Sir Harold MacMichael arrives at Haifa to take up his new office.

(129A) March 1938: Fire in a timber warehouse at Rehovoth. Firemen. Palestinian Police head out with tracking dogs. (This fire was caused by an Arab attack.)

(135C) April 1938: New ambulances bought by American funds arrive at Tel Aviv Hospital for the Magden-David Adom (Jewish Red Cross).

(146) July 1938: Establishment of Chanita Kibbutz. Settlers arrive at dawn and build settlement during course of day. Jewish Settlement Police guard their activities. Ben Tzvi and Moshe Shertok of the Jewish Agency attend the establishment of the kibbutz. This new Settlement is in north Galilee very near the Lebanon border, and was one of those settlements designed to stake claim to the boundaries of Eretz Israel.
