Synopsis
I. "Pacific Battlefront": A tribute to the endurance of Australian troops engaged in jungle warfare in New Guinea, and to the bushboys who assist them.
II. "Further Advances in New Guinea": Australians in Papua get support from the Royal Australian Air Force.
III. "Roving Camera Reports": Wounded Middle East soldiers have a day out by the River Nile. British sailors gather fruit in Eastern England. King George VI and Queen Elizabeth inspect American troops (all very short, badly cut).
IV. "Fortresses Raid the Renault Works". The US Army 8th Air Force launch a daylight raid on the Renault works at Boulogne-Billancourt, near Paris. Bombs cause damage over a wide area.
V. "The Middlesex East Front": Libya fighting from June 10 to June 30. A German armoured-car driver surrenders in the desert. The Royal Army Medical Corps work bravely under fire. At Bir Hacheim, June 10, The Free French (Foreign Legion) under General Koenig hold back Rommel's drive against Tobruk until ordered to retreat.
