Synopsis

Amateur film shot by Major Allan Cameron of 1st Battalion King's Own Scottish Borderers when serving at Headquarters 48 Gurkha Infantry Brigade records scenes of military and local life, including contrast between Chinese shanty towns and wealth, Chinese Nationalist Day (10 October 1963), Queen's Birthday Parade in Kowloon, Tin Hau Festival and Dragon Boat Race at Tai Po Harbour.

Notes

Hayes: Major Cameron's own commentary to this Std 8mm was recorded by me on audio (held by Sound Archive), and by David Oddy on Hi-8 pointed at Preview screen during projection at 18 fps (KAY 592A - also sent to Hayes).
