Synopsis

Reel 8: "Well at Jhak. Shelabagh" (ie Baluchistan) Indians irrigate using cows to draw water from well. Volley ball.

Reel 9: "Srinagar, Kashmir" Tourist scenes of lake and river traffic.

Reel 10: "Barrack building, Wana" (ie Waziristan) Indian turbaned troops construct new barracks. Unloading and assembling mountain gun under supervision of British officer.

Reel 11: "Mar Canal and Bijbehara Fair" Tracking shot along canal, fair on bankside.

Reel 12: "Kashmir" Tracking shot along canal.

Reel 13: "Railway Station, Ambala Cantt (ie cantonment)" Platform scene of Indian Peninsula Railway.

Reel 14: "Sunday at Shelabagh" (ie Baluchistan) Indians play sports.

Reel 15: "Pillar of Kutab Mosque, Delhi, and Deck Games, V of India" Minaret. Quoits on deck of SS Viceroy of India, presumably on return to UK for leave (1931).

Reel 16: "Moplah Dance" (ie South India) Muslim men in distinctive white dress and skull caps perform dance.

Amateur film without titles shot by Captain Ronald Reed of 2nd Battalion 4th Bombay Grenadiers (King Edward's Own) of Indian Army records military and off-duty scenes of an Indian Army regiment at the start of Gandhi's campaign of civil disobedience.

Notes

Summary: Titles are as transcribed from original 9.5mm cassettes before films were extracted and compiled onto larger reel for screening.
