Synopsis
Amateur film without titles shot by Flight Officer Anne Peterkin, when serving as a sister in the Princess Mary's Royal Air Force Nursing Service in the RAF Hospital at Khormaksar Beach from 1964 to 1966, records her working and social life in the British colony of Aden during the violent campaign by nationalist forces against the British presence in South Arabia.
Scenes include Anne Peterkin and fellow nurses relaxing on beach, soldiers in Land Rover on guard in Aden, patients in hospital, flying visit up country in August 1966 to Makairos on border with Yemen, aerial view of Aden, Arab child in hospital, harbour activity and launch trip and motorcycle gymkhana.
Notes
Technical: Most of the interior sequences, and some outdoor scenes, are unfocused and/or underexposed.
