Synopsis
Amateur film without titles shot by Flight Officer Anne Peterkin, when serving as a sister in the Princess Mary's Royal Air Force Nursing Service in the RAF Hospital at Khormaksar Beach from 1964 to 1966, records her working and social life in the British colony of Aden during the violent campaign by nationalist forces against the British presence in South Arabia.
Scenes include Arab staff in hospital laundry, British Army trucks passing along Causeway, Anne Peterkin in blue dress crossing road, goats in street, entering hairdressing salon "Sophie", extended tracking shot driving along Causeway in her green Austin A-35, passing camel carts, harbour and modern liner passing.
Notes
Technical: Most of the interior sequences, and some outdoor scenes, are unfocused and/or underexposed.
