Synopsis
Amateur film with titles shot by Lieutenant Torquil MacLeod of the 71st Highland Light Infantry records various military ceremonial and naval scenes between 1930 and 1934.
Voyage out to Malta in 1930 on SS Kaiser-i-Hind via Gibraltar and visit to Algeciras, destroyers in Grand Harbour, Valletta dressed for birthday of King George V (3 June 1930) with destroyers D.77 and D.38, Trooping the Colour by the 1st Battalion The Queens on Palace Square, air pageant at Calafrana, 1st Battalion Highland Light Infantry mounting guard for departure of C-in-C on HMS Queen Elizabeth, high speed torpedo attack by a destroyer flotilla (including D.46, D.54 and D.91), rehearsal by 2nd Battalion Black Watch for the Royal Tournament at Olympia in 1934 and inspection by Duke of Cumberland, with marchpast showing "past" handing over to "future".
