Synopsis

Amateur film of Victory Parade Day in Rangoon, Burma (15 June 1945). The Supreme Allied Commander, South East Asia, Admiral Lord Louis Mountbatten takes the salute of the representative services.

An RAF fly past. Troops on parade, flags include the Armerican Stars and Stripes, a golden eagle on a dark blue background and a Burmese flag. Mountbatten saluting, army and naval officers stand behind him. Four army and naval officers chat in front of the saluting dais. A military vehicle pulling a gun passes the saluting dais. Troops on parade in a field. Mountbatten saluting, army and naval officers behind him. Buildings in a park, the Shwedagon pagoda visible in the background, a brief glimpse of the Union Jack, American flag, Burmese flag and one other flying together. Military vehicles towing guns pass the saluting dais, many of the troops watching are wearing rain capes. Troops on parade in a field in torrential rain. A shot of troops from the Indian Army, and men looking on wearing bush hats and rain capes. More scenes of the troops on parade. Mountbatten speaking from a platform in the field, photographers taking pictures of him. A wider shot reveals six flags flying above the platform including the Union Jack, Burma and America. Views of the troops on parade in the field.
