Synopsis

Amateur film of the birds and wildlife at the Pidaung Wildlife Sanctuary, Myitkyina, Kachin State, Burma.

A sign for Pidaung railway station (in Roman and Burmese script). A train passes by. Shot of a hut at the end of a short track. A Burmese man poses with a buffalo's skull mounted on a plaque, he holds up a board 'FD 47 1930'. Close-up of a live buffalo. A calf feeds from its mother. A Burmese man (park ranger?) looks out over a plain to the distant hills. Shots of a stork-like bird flying. Cattle in the distance. Close-ups of deer sitting in the grass. A small, meandering stream, a bird flies past. Ducks on the water. A man feeds an angry monkey, close-ups of other monkeys taking and eating food. Cattle in a field (slow-motion). A Burmese man climbs a ladder to a bamboo platform in a tree. A view out across a plain. Shot of a vulture in flight. The Burmese man looks out across the plain from behind some reeds. Deer? sitting next to and in some water, something startles them and they run out of the water, the vulture flies over them (slow-motion). Several cormorant-type birds in flight.
