Synopsis

"MALTA". Aerial shots of clouds and of airfield in Malta with RAF Transport Command Handley Page Hastings aircraft parked on the tarmac.

"NEW DELHI". Shots of buildings including Viceregal Lodge (?) with group strolling in the grounds - one is a pipe-smoking naval man. Views of gardens.

"THE RED FORT". The fort in Delhi, and the ornamental gardens, are seen; also brief underexposed interior shots.

"AGRA - THE TAJ MAHAL." The monument and nearby buildings, including elevated views of the surrounding countryside.

"TOMB OF ITMAD-UD-DAULA". Exterior views of the tomb at Agra.

"RANGOON". Shots taken on river boat trip shows boats and ships and also views of the guests relaxing; these include Admiral Mountbatten. Large residence with Union flag flying; smaller British-style house also seen.

"LORD HOWE ISLAND, FROM 15,000 FT". Aerial shots of the Pacific island, partially obscured by cloud and parts of the aircraft fuselage.

"WELLINGTON, NEW ZEALAND". Views from moving vehicle. Group relax in the gardens of a large house. General views of Wellington rooftops.

"COOK'S STRAIT AND KAIKOURA MOUNTAINS" Aerial views of mountains, and shots from beach (including gulls). Winch and harness at "North Beach Surf Club" is displayed and partially demonstrated.

"MOUNT COOK". Aerial views of the snow-covered peak.

"HOBART, TASMANIA". Waterside views; woman poses by tree. Landscape around Hobart. Party of VIPs stand by car.

"CEYLON - TEMPLE TREES, COLOMBO." Trees at night (illuminated by tiny lights) followed by day shot of official residence and gardens.

"KANDY." Lakeside views. Shots from moving car driving along avenue lined with high trees. Men outside building (with sign saying "Office of the Administrative Officer Dry Farming").

"TRINCOMALEE". Shot of waterway from high elevation: warship (British?) is anchored in the middle distance.

"CHATEAU DE JUAYE, NORMANDY". Exterior views. Middle aged couple pose with dog outside the chateau - a woman joins them.

Amateur film, with captions, shot by Captain E Hale CBE RN who, as Secretary of the Royal Life Saving Society, accompanied Admiral Louis Mountbatten on a tour of Malta and the Far East.
