Synopsis
I. "Victoria: Land Army girls supply much of Melbourne's food." Girls on horseback and picking onions and peaches.
II. "Sydney: 'Rats of Tobruk' commemorate historic siege." Wreaths are laid at the Cenotaph before a flashback recalls the North African campaign and shows the wooden cross over the grave of Corporal Edmondson VC. Fourth Anniversary.
III. "Sydney: rare toys make their appearance for charity." Victoria League members have a preview of the toys to be displayed in aid of bomb victims and the navy fund. Some have been donated by the Duke of Gloucester's sons.
IV. "Animal oddities." Close-up film of a sea elephant on the beach near Wellington, New Zealand, before it lumbers into the water.
V. "The Gap NSW: police cliff reserve squad." New South Wales Premier McKell shakes hands with the chief of the National Emergency Services before watching a demonstration by police of safety apparatus, including a rope chair and swinging derrick (originally designed for ARP work).
VI. "Aussies in Burma." Two RAF Thunderbolt squadrons are commanded, as well as partly staffed, by Australians. Clear film shows the planes taking off and swooping low to release their bombs on enemy objectives in the jungle. Vultures mingle with the planes in the sky.
