Synopsis
Amateur compilation made to commemorate the fortieth anniversary of HMS Ajax in the Battle of the River Plate (Rio de Plata) combines film shot during the veterans' visit to Buenos Aires (Argentina), including laying of wreaths in the German (grave of Captain Langsdorff) and British cemeteries in the presence of Argentinian naval officers, and to Montevideo (Uruguay), with archive film.
Commemorative ceremonies include Battle of River Plate veterans laying wreath to honour founder of Argentinian Navy, Almirante Brown, in Buenos Aires and scenes of British-German amity at the German Rowing Club in Montevideo.
