Synopsis
Home movie of HMS Capetown on the China Station, showing scenes at Hong Kong, Christmas 1936.
The film shows Christmas celebrations formal and informal on board HMS Capetown at Hong Kong 1936. A large unidentified Japanese warship is seen in the harbour. On board the Capetown officers and their wives joke to the camera. There are physical exercise sessions on deck. There are scenes of British and Indian troops drilling on shore. There is a mixed hockey match ashore, a man and a woman go sailing in the harbour. There is a formal march-past on the dockside of Scottish troops.
