Synopsis

Home movie shot in Waziristan, on the NW Frontier of India, ca 1931.

This film shows something of the social life associated with working on the NW Frontier. Brigadier Alston lived in a bungalow in Dera Ismail Khan, on the River Indus, which he shared with his sister. The film shows the bungalow, an Indus river trip, a Gymkhana, a Musical Ride by a horse troop, Alston and friends playing golf and various picnics. The film goes on to show another patrol to a Scout's Post on the Sharan River. There is film taken from inside one of the Tochi Scout's Posts. Many of the local tribesmen are seen at this outpost on the Frontier.

Remarks: as with the rest of this collection film-wise it is rather poor but it is a useful historical record.
