I. 'IVORY.' Ivory tusks taken from Indian elephants are stacked on the floor of an ivory workshop in London. A male factory worker cuts the tusks with an electric jig in the first stage of the production of ivory handles for brushes, combs and hand-mirrors. A male worker uses a cutting pattern as he cuts ivory to the shape of a hand-mirror. Other male workers shape and polish the ivory. Female workers hand thread individual hair filaments onto a hair brush backing board. An attractive woman uses an ivory handled brush while standing at a mirror.

II. 'RUBBER FROM MALAYA.' Panoramic footage shows a Malayan rubber plantation, showing the stumps of rubber trees cut down by the retreating Japanese. A British rubber "expert" examines the remains of rubber refining equipment. Malay workers on the plantation clear drip troughs cut in the tree bark to obtain latex sap. Latex solution is poured into solidifying vats. Latex sap drips into the collection cups affixed to the rubber trees (Hevea brasiliensis). Women plantation workers stack rubber for later export. Rubber is loaded onto shipping at a quayside (undisclosed location).

III. 'AUSTRALIA- THE MELBOURNE CUP.' A large bank-holiday crowd gathers to watch the Melbourne Cup held at Flemington Race Course. Horses are displayed in the paddock prior to the race. Extended footage shows highlights of the race with the finish being shown in slow motion.

IV. 'FROM PARACHUTES TO SWIM SUITS.' Stock shots show parachutists descending. Mr B Turner, an Australian manufacturer of parachutes, is shown working at a drawing board in his office. Female factory workers inspect newly manufactured parachutes for defects. A sign hanging on a pillar in the sewing room of the factory reads "A Man's Life Depends On Your Work- Do It Well!" Workers take great care in folding parachutes. The factory gears up for a peace-time role manufacturing ladies silk swimwear. A woman fashion designer completes a sketch of projected women's beachwear. A male factory worker uses a pattern to cut swimwear segments from silk. Female factory workers use Singer sewing machines to manufacture swimwear. The finished product is displayed in the factory and modelled on a beach. Young women pose in the newly designed swimwear.
