Synopsis
Rushes. An examination of the history of the British in India, largely from the point of view and experiences of Indians. Tape 6 contains: interviews with Mr Shirubhau Limaye, 'terrorist'; Vice Admiral M. P. Awati (contd. from tape 5); Mr Minoo Masani, freedom fighter of the early days and colleague of Gandhi; Mr S. A. Dange, head of the Communist Party in India; Mrs Pepita Seth, British, now married to the Indian Actor Roshan Seth; Mr and Mrs Mehroo - Mr Mehroo is the owner/editor of one of India's oldest English language newspapers; Dr Aneesjehan Syed, historian specialising in Moghul history; Mrs Mehtab Modi, film star known throughout the country by her first name; Mr Ali Jafri and Mr Richard Harris (Mr Jafri is an eminent Indian poet; Mr Harris is a British academic specialising in Eastern languages and literature); Mr Rabindra Hazari, lawyer and Military Historian of the period of the East India Company.
