Synopsis
Records footage of the various members of Mr Gill's staff, European and African, who worked in the Public Works Department of what is now the North-West Province of the Cameroon Republic.
It includes sequences of the maintenance and replacement of bridges on the road between the provincial headquarters town of Bamenda and the important town of Wum (bridges which became vital in the rescue work after the appalling volcanic eruption of Lake Nyos in 1986. Mr Gill visited them later that year and was delighted to see them still in service).
Production / Donor Details: Mr Gill was a Provincial Engineer in Nigeria and the Southern Cameroons between 1951 and 1960.
