Synopsis
Gold Coast. The bride, Miss Scanlan dressed in her white wedding outfit and carrying bridal bouquet poses for formal pictures on balcony of house before posing again at the entrance to the Residency where she is saluted by one of the African policemen. The bridegroom, Capt Macpherson and the bride then leave the wedding under the traditional ceremonial arch of honour provided by 2 fellow officers dressed in full uniform. The bride and bridegroom leave for the reception by car. The bride and groom then pose for the traditional pictures and the groom kisses the bride. The cutting of the cake with the groom's sword The bride and groom change into civilian clothes. After the reception then bride and groom in their open top car are hauled down the driveway of the residency by fellow officers of the groom who decorate it and put up the roof. Group of officers in non-ceremonial uniform with their wife gather in the porch of the residency for the wedding couple's departure.
Production / Donor Details: Donor's grandfather, Sir Francis Walter F Jackson was Chief Commissioner, Gold Coast (Ghana) 1934-36.
