Synopsis
Northern Territories Gold Coast. This is dark and rather indistinct footage apart from the final sequence. Group of local girls bathing at waterside of riverbank. Girls dancing. General scenes of village people. British brick out post building with flag pole flying Union Jack. British colonial officer with wife then descents timber flight of steps and drive away in car. British colonial officer in tope and white suit escorts British male dignitary wearing kilt and Scottish costume at a gathering where he is meeting local people (out of focus). Mounted lancers provide escort for Governor in his official car at military parade or gathering. Marching troops. Parade and march past by troops in front of dais with flag pole. Governor, on foot, in white uniform and topee is introduced to local Muslim leaders at a gathering while being accompanied by two members of British staff.
Production / Donor Details: Donor's grandfather, Sir Francis Walter F Jackson was Chief Commissioner, Gold Coast (Ghana) 1934-36.
