DEATH ON THE ROCK

This film is held by the BFI (ID: 344119).

Synopsis

Documentary report about the killing of three IRA operatives (Mairead Farrell, Daniel McCann and Sean Savage) by the SAS in Gibraltar. The programme asks whether they were gunned down because lives were at risk, or as a result of a deliberate shoot to kill policy to eliminate "known terrorists outside the due processes of law, without arrest, trial or verdict" . The programme presents evidence which challenges the government's account of events. It features interviews with some eye-witnessess to the killings (Carmen Proetta, Josie Celecia, Stephen Bulloch and Kenneth Asquez), as well as Lt Col. George Styles GC (former Senior Bomb Disposal Officer, Northern Ireland), George Carman QC and Luis Arranz (Senior Advisor, Spanish Ministry of Interior).
