Synopsis
Amateur film. Coasting along Borneo from Sumatra to British North Borneo (now called Sabah).
"Damage to river bank by 1939 floods": muddy bank with exposed under-strata and small landslips. Estate buildings. "Coasting round Borneo". "Kuching, Sarawak": native houses shot from moving boat; water buffalo on boat. "Lying off the oilport of Miri, Sarawak": launch comes out to bigger boat. People board. Native passengers eating meal on deck. "Labuan", Sabah: harbour installations. "Jesselton: fish round the boat". "Sunrise over the sacred Mount Kinabalu": spectacular. "Kudat, British North Borneo": harbour. "Landing pigs": carried ashore in wicker baskets. "Sandakan": shot from the sea; the harbour. "The leper settlement": shot from the sea. "Flora and fauna": trees; birds; dislodging a snake from the roof and killing it with a long pole. "Tropical skies".
