Synopsis

The Prince of Wales tour of India, 192, including Bikaner and Nepal and featuring a tiger shoot.

[Opening missing]. "Bikaner. The Prince and his suite enjoy a brief rest in the Palace courtyard. His right arm does not allow him to forget teh heartiness of the reception". Brief shot of the Prince and his aides in the courtyard. The girls are not dancing; the orchestra sits on the ground.

" A star turn. Barefooted , this artist dances on sword edges". A man stands on swords, the his son does the same. "Sir Percival Phillips (the famous war correspondent) satisfies himself that the swords are really sharp",

The Prince reviews the Camel Corps at Bikaner and takes the salute.

"Bharaipur Lucknow. State drive through the bazaars at Bharaipur en route for Maharaja's palace". Grand procession. i

"The noble mascot of the Maharaja of Bharaipur is never absent from a state function". Lion on a cart. The Prince visits Legislature Council Chamber, Lucknow.

"March past of the 16th Lancers".

"The Prince enjoys a game of polo". {Possibly filmed 11/2/22 - Whittaker reference].

"Views of the Lawrence Tower, named after Sir Henry Lawrence, Lucknow's gallant defender during the long seige in the Mutiny".

"Evening tributes were paid by Indian and European to the Prince's horsemanship at Lucknow gymkhana". Brief shots of the Prince at the races. "The Baillie Guard at Lucknow. "Food is distributed to the poor in Victoria Gardens at Imambara".

"Benares. Arrival at Allakabad". Leaving after a reception at High Court in a motor car. "It will be noticed that the Royal Crest is carried by each of the Crossley cars". War veterans presented to the Prince. View of Benares city from the river.

"Views of the burning ghats where the mortal remains of Hindus, after reverent immersion in the sacred water, are consumed by fire". Woman in background walks around the dead body of her husband in accordance with rites. [Image indistinct].

The Prince of Wales inspects the Nepalese Guard of Honour.

"Some of the 700 elephants engaged in the shoot". Three or four men on each elephant. The elephants walk along the dry bed of the River Chute. "These pictures were taken from the howdah of an elephant which was restive beacuse of the very close proximity of the tiger". A woodland jungle. [Break in film]. Three tigers shot, lying on the ground. "Returning from the shoot. Elephants bringing one of the tigers shot by the Prince". "Pleased with his first days tiger shoot, the Prince waves to our `movie' men across the stream". [Image not clear]. Gift of animals from the Maharaja to the Prince.
