Synopsis
An Indian procession of state which includes a carriage in which are seated a man in uniform and a woman with a sunshade.
Mounted troops are followed by an open carriage in which a man in uniform and a woman with sunshade, other carrraiges and troops follow (61); men on camels are drawn up in line (82). Decorated elephants with howdahs walk through crowd (125). Men carrying a litter (138ft).
Note. This may be part of the ceremonial for the visit of the Prince and Princess of Wales (later King George V and Queen Mary) to India in 1905/06.
However, this film has also subsequently been identified by a researcher as belonging to the 1902/03 Delhi Durbar, and shows the event known as the 'Chief's Retinue Review' held on 7 January 1903.
