Synopsis

DOCUMENTARY. The rebuilding of Palestine.

rl.1 Primitive life in Palestine - threshing by hand - a camel powers a water wheel. An Arab Muezzin in Jerusalem, the gates, streets and bazaars - the churches and mosques, the Via Dolorosa - the tomb of Rachel. Pioneers and refugees come back to their native land. Haifa - Tel Aviv. Workers march to work on a settlement. Crushing stone by hand - erecting power transmission lines - pumping water into an irrigation system. Spraying crops - livestock - (836 ft).

rl.2 A cooperative (Kibutz) an experiment in communal living - the dining hall - a man sings, a woman sings, while peeling potatoes, a man while shaving. The Jewish cities - Tel Aviv stands out from thepthers. Women working on a building site. Olive oil being processed for making soap. Silk industry - Cotton mills - milk bottling plant. Angola - Palestine bank. Beginning of the Sabbath in Tel Aviv - the beach at Tel Aviv. Hebrew University students. Combine harvesters. Oranges, plums and grapes. Harvest festival celebrated as in ancient days (956 ft). (1792 ft).
