TRAVEL. A journey from London to Japan on the SS Haruna Mari operated by the Nippon Yusen Kaisha line (Japan Mail Steamship Co.); followed by scenes in Japan.

Rl. 3. Rice cultivation: Pan over paddy fields and Japanese landscape (11-25). LS a woman sowing the rice in the flooded fields using a wooden contraption with a small waist-high trough and long pipes for the seed to fall into the mud (37-51).
