Synopsis

INTEREST. Travelogue. Scenes in and around Rangoon, Burma.

No main title. "Famille de Birmans" (5). A village, a group of children walk to camera then turn off the track and enter the garden of a hut (23). LS down street with a temple in the background, pedestrians, horse carts and carriages pass along the street; also includes a number of policemen with criminals (?) (75); view of another street (132); another street with bullock cart and porter (174); a pavement outside a temple with market stalls (198); at a market stall a native buys and drinks a cup of tea (218); the pavement scene again (244). "Cuisiniers Indigénes" (247). A native boy grinds grain on the floor (266). A native man cooks noodles (289). "Tisseuse" (291). A native woman weaves at a loom in the open air (328). "Écrivain Public" (333). Two natives squat on a pavement, one man writes while the other dictates (360); CU of the letter as it is held up for the camera (363ft). Incomplete.
