Synopsis
The people and animals of Ceylon.
A title introduces 'Cinghalese Natives' before showing local women carrying baskets towards the camera. They are followed by men with an ox-drawn carriage. A local poses for the camera in front of a tree. This is followed by a shot of a mother washing her baby. The next title reads 'On the banks of the Mahavelli-Ganga', and is followed by shots of locals walking along the banks and boarding a wooden raft. 'The Sacred Elephants' walk towards the camera with locals alongside. A man climbs onto an elephant which collects foilage. Further shots of the elephants follow, ridden towards the camera and wading through the water. The film ends abruptly with a shot of a man on an elephant facing the camera.
