Synopsis
INTEREST. Travelogue. A journey through Egypt on a Nile steamboat. The boat passes all types of rivercraft (120), stretches of dense vegetation (160), birds (181), a water-buffalo (196) and a typical water-side village (257). The boat calls at a cotton depot (432) and passes on to the Assuan Dam (555); 'Pharoah's Bed' and the Temple of Isis, on the Sacred Isle of Philae (607), Karnak - the Avenue of Ram-headed Spinxes (629), the Great Temple (638) and scarabs by the Sacred Lake (663); the Winter Palace Hotel, Luxor (682); the Valley of the Kings and Queens and the tomb of Tut-Ankh-Amen (735), the Temple of Hatshepsu (790) and the Temple of Abu Simbel (822). The boat continues to the upper reaches of the Nile (875).
