Synopsis

INTEREST. A journey along the Niger river and its tributaries.

Travelling shot from boat on river of the river's edge at Lokoja with Africans and their boats (25-79). The `beach' at Lokoja, women and children washing and bathing in the river (82-95). Lokoja church, small brick-built church with square tower (104-116). The British Cotton Growing Association's bungalow (119-136). The Residency of the District Officer (?) (141-150). Note: The Archive holsd a second copy of this film. It carries the main title and the credit `Presented by the Niger Company Ltd'. There are no further credits. Some of the key scenes are missing, notably the `Walter Watts' and `Naraguta'. This films also ends with the Buruto church scenes, but this is followed by another intertitle which suggests the film may actually have been longer.

Note: The scenes in 434-451 are duplicated in DOWN THE NIGER RIVER, the style of intertitles of which are the same as the above film. Hence, this film may be part of the above film.
