This film is held by the BFI (ID: 546814).
Synopsis
No titles. A reporter sits with Shri Meher Baba on a sofa in a park or other open space. The sofa is covered with a `throw' with geometrical designs of Indian origin. Meher Baba wears a full-length white robe. They face camera and the reporter states that Meher Baba has come from India with a message for the West. He does not convey his message by speaking but my `his mere presence'. When he wants to communicate he uses a board and points to the letters on it. [Closer shot of the reporter and Meher Baba]. As Meher Baba points rapidly to the letters on a board which is about the size of a classroom slate the reporter speaks the words. "My object in coming to the West is not with the intention of establishing new creeds or spiritual societies and organisations [shot of the two people from a different angle to show the Roman alphabet letters on the board an numbers 1-0 on the bottom line]. I see that all the constructions of the great religions covering the West are tottering. The West is more inclined to the material side of things. [cut to the reporter and Meher Baba facing camera on the sofa as in the opening shot]. I intend to bring together all religions and cults like beads among strings(?) and revitalise them for individual and collective needs. This is my mission to the West". Ends abruptly (101ft).
Note: The item was the third of six stories.
